Hotel Basilea, housed in a converted ex-convent built by Augustinian friars in the 1300''''s, is situated in Florence''''s historic San Lorenzo district, just a stone''''s throw from the famous San Lorenzo Market and within walking distance of such major attractions as the Accademia Museum, which houses Michelangelo''''s famous David statue, the Medici Chapel, the Duomo and the San Marco Museum. Offering a comfortable and welcoming destination for business and leisure travellers alike, the hotel is easy to reach from the Santa Maria Novella railway station and offers an ideal base for a convenient visit of the city on foot. A friendly and knowledgeable team is always on hand to give terrific advice or provide great suggestions and all kinds of useful information. All guests are provided with a detailed map of the city highlighting major points of interest and recommended restaurants upon their arrival. BY TRAIN. From the train station you can get a taxi that will bring you to the Basilea in 2 or 3 minutes. By foot (with light baggage) you can walk from the train station to the Hotel in 7 minutes. BY CAR. FROM THE HIGHWAY A11 exit FIRENZE NORD, and follow directions toward CENTRO. You will reach the boulevard ring. Turn left along VIALE FRATELLI ROSSELLI, then VIALE FILIPPO STROZZI, and VIALE SPARTACO LAVAGNINI. At the middle of this boulevard there is a red light. Turn right into VIA S. C. DALESSANDRIA, straight ahead cross PIAZZA INDIPENDENZA and turn left in VIA GUELFA. We are there ! FROM FLR AIRPORT. We suggest you to get a taxi that in 15-20 minutes will bring you to our hotel. Cost is approx. 17 Euro in 2006.

GARAGE with valet service We have an agreement with a garage that can pick up and deliver the car from the door of our Hotel. 24 Hours parking costs 25 Euro for a car. 35 Euro for minivans and deluxe cars. Valet service is included for arrival and departure. The clients should pay the garage with cash when receiving the car at the check-out. The garage is located very close to the hotel. Every day the garage is closed between midnight and 7:00 am.
